About the network
One publisher. A dozen sites, each on one subject.
DailyPicksNetwork is the front door to a family of editorial sites. Each one covers a single subject, is curated from public data, and publishes one new pick every morning. The rules are set in one place and applied the same way on every site.
Why a network
- Depth on one subject. PicksByOdds covers prediction markets and nothing else. PicksByRecipe covers recipes and nothing else. A site that does one thing can be checked against one kind of data.
- One set of rules. The same standards for what counts as a listing, what counts as evidence, and what a sponsor can and cannot buy, on every site.
- One front door. This hub lists what every site published today and keeps the week-by-week archive of every note.
How it works
- Public data in, picks out. Business listings come from map data, licensing records and the businesses' own websites. Market, product and event data comes from the sources named on each site. Daily notes are generated from that day's data and checked against it before publishing.
- Rebuilt every night. An automated pipeline rebuilds and publishes every site overnight, so each one carries the day's pick before 6 AM Eastern.
- Guarded publishing. A build that loses pages, or whose note fails its checks, is held rather than published. Every change to the sites is tracked in version control.
- Backed up daily. Each day's build is archived off the server.
